This round shopping basket is perfect for a quick visit into town so you don’t have to purchase plastic shopping bags. A very sturdy basket that will last a good deal longer than a bag for life!!! The basket is made using willow grown by Hatton Willow on our small withy bed in Caerphilly, Wales. The baskets will be woven using willow that is available at the time of weaving. This beautiful shopping basket has 2 blocks of the French Rand weave which uses 24 willow rods all at once, 48 rods in total.

Sarah Hatton started willow weaving in 2008. Sarah is passionate about the heritage craft of willow weaving and cares deeply about the quality and durability of the pieces that she creates. These high quality baskets have come from years of repetition and practice. When Sarah planted her own willow she realised that she could have a sustainable source of willow. She uses her own 26 varieties of different colours alongside willow from Somerset.

Measurements: Height to border – 21cm, height to handle – 38cm, width at base – 22cm, width at border – 37cm.

Available to order – This means your basket is on back order and it will need to be made before being sent. It can take up to 4 weeks to make your basket due to the time it takes to soak the willow and the volume of work that I already have. If you need the basket for a special event please let me know in the notes at the checkout. When your basket is ready it will be sent 2nd class Signed with Royal Mail.
