Everyone can have a go at willow weaving. We can run workshops at your events including:
- Festivals and shows
- Societies and social club gatherings
- Hen parties – making hearts and garlands
- Childrens parties

Talks
Sarah Hatton is able to provide your group, society or organisation with a highly informative and entertaining talk about all aspects of willow weaving. This talk would include information on cultivation and coppicing of willow, how to prepare willow for weaving, different types of basket, the weaves to make the baskets and Sarah’s business and her achievements. Sarah will also bring a selection of baskets and willow so that the audience will get a full appreciation of the ancient rural craft of willow weaving.
Sarah charges £30 for a 45 minute talk within the CF83 postcode area. For other areas a mileage charge of 45p per mile will be added.
Sarah would be happy to combine her willow talk with a small hour long workshop which would give the members the opportunity to make one willow item which would be charged at £8 person with a minimum of 12 people and a maximum of 30 people.

Demonstrations
Sarah would be happy to attend your event and demonstrate the traditional and ancient art of willow weaving. She can show your visitors a variety of willow weaving skills which can include creating a stake and strand base to show the beginning of a basket, splitting and shaving willow to show how to create ribs for the traditional Welsh Cyntell and weaving a garden trug. If there is a weaving technique that you would like Sarah to show your visitors please let her know and she will do her very best to accommodate you.
